Advanced Conversations: #metoo - Now What? Writing, Wine, and Fireside Conversation
facilitated by Bonnie Ratner, Writer, Educator and Facilitator
Saturday, February 3, 2018 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This special event is for people who identify as women in the second half of their life. The #metoo social media movement has raised awareness of the pervasive and endemic violation of women.
Older women, women of color, disabled women, trans women have added layers of adversity, violation, and trauma from misogyny and sexism. Forced silence, keeping secrets, denying our experiences, and moving on as if it didn’t happen is just the beginning of our stories.
Bonnie Ratner will facilitate a powerful process technique which uses writing as a tool, promoting deep exploration without the inner writing critic. She was certified in this writing model by the Amherst Writers and Artists Institute. This is not a writing class, but some ideas will help your own writing, in whatever form that may take.
Space is limited to 15. Sign up now! Pay what you will. Can't make a payment right now? Email email@example.com to reserve your spot.
Address of the event will be provided through the confirmation email.
Testimonials from AGE writing workshop participants:
"It’s reinforced the power of storytelling as a journey into oneself. It’s reinforced the universal humanity we all have. Let’s not take lightly the stories we tell. We make ourselves agents of change."
"I could feel my fear. This has opened up a new path. I’m used to taking other people’s words and performing them. These are my words."
"I’ve gotten so much out of today. It’s hard to articulate. We need to pass our stories on."
